The creation of Rental News was inspired by the stories of landlords and tenants that illustrate what issues they deal with on a day to day basis.

The journey to build this site and resource began when my boyfriend and I purchased a cottage. The property consisted of 2 buildings. There was a main cottage & a separate cabin. Work began on renovating & rebuilding the run down shack the following spring. After months of effort & a substantial investment, The Cabin was complete. We were now ready to rent it out to vacationers that could enjoy the accommodation year round.

We soon realized that finding an affordable way to promote the rental was not as easy as we had thought. The cost to advertise on various websites, magazines, newspapers and with flyers soon proved to be a pricy venture. The small amount of revenue that we would draw from The Cabin was not enough to justify all of the expense. It wasn’t long before discussions with other property owners and landlords made it clear that our situation was not unique. An easy, affordable & effective way to market a rental was needed.

In addition to providing landlords and property owners with a tool to list and promote their rentals, RentalDoctor.com has become a tenant time saver as well. Busy people that don’t have time to spend hours online, on the phone or driving around town viewing rentals find the service to be helpful and convenient. They simply call in or send us a message letting us know what it is that they are looking for. We then email them options that are likely to meet their needs. If we don’t have what they are looking for listed on our site, we go out & find it. This process helps tenants to find the right rental faster and with less stress. Landlords benefit from the custom service and added value.
